Summer fun at Lake Zell

The 3.8 km long and up to 1.5 km wide Lake Zeller was named after the spa town of Zell am See and dates back between 10,000 and 16,000 years, created by ice erosion due to icy masses emanating from the Northern Glockner mountain range.

Surrounded by pastures and the impressive "Hohe Tauern" mountain range and the "stony sea", the lake is pleasantly warm in summer, perfect for a swim, or for diving, surfing and sailing.

Situated only 50m from the Romantikhotel, we offer our guests reduced rates for access to the Zeller Seebad lake resort. The water in Lake Zell with temperatures of up to 25 degrees is beautifully refreshing, as is the solar-heated open air pool.
